Acura calls the stylish coupe version as the Advanced Sports car; generally speaking it is a replacement model to the much missed NSX Sports Car. Though the model is being replaced by the V-10 engine, the regulations from the F1 have forced the Acura teams to replace the V10 engine by a V8 model.
The rear wheel drive influenced all wheel drive architecture contradicts the need to build an all new front engine rear wheel drive platform. The sports version was debuted at the Detroit Auto Show. The original model is expected to hit the car market by the final season of 2009 or in the early season of 2010.
The sports vehicle is likely to be the successor to the most successful NSX model from the house of Acura. The concept model of this Acura Advanced Sports Car was first shown in 2007 North American Auto Show.
Apart from the V-10 engine, the new model will also feature with the rear wheel drive with super handling all wheel drive. The other features that are expected to be included in the new variant include vented disc for braking system, anti lock brake system, and fine gripped alloy wheels. The front tires of the vehicle are 255/40 R19 model and the rear wheel are 295/35 R20.
